I bought the cases about six months ago, and I haven't applied any kind of finish to them. The glasses have been in the cases for 5-6 months, and they are enclosed behind a sliding glass door. Since I discovered this problem, I have left the glass doors partially open.
On the other hand, I suppose the cases could have come with a finish on them, and the stuff on the glasses looks like 'blooms' (several circles, spread over the glass, some overlapping).
