Hi all shot glass collectors and enthusiasts!
I am writing up an article about how the shot glass
(or shotglass) got its beginning name. I've seen this post somewhere else but can't find it, so I'm starting up another one on this subject. Anyway, one story I've heard from someone who saw it on The History Channel is from back in the "Old West" - the bartender would supply a customer with whiskey if they would give up one for a "bullet" and then the bartender would put the bullet into a small glass. Hence, the name "shot" from a bullet came to be the "shot glass".
Other stories are emerging, but if anyone has more info on this, I would like to hear it here and if you know of a web site that has that info, please supply the URL address here, too. I would greatly appreciate it and when I complete the article, I may even post some of it up here for you all.
