Is the case padded? If so this sounds like a glass used for traveling. In the days before plastic if you wanted to have a nice glass to use while you were on the road you had to keep it padded to protect it. I have a similar glass in case that was a souvenir from the Pan American Exposition in 1901 -- the design is on the glass, not the case.

: My mother has recently purchased a leather shot glass with it's original hard hinged case. I can send pics if necessary, but we are unable to find anything similar online. If you could help at all that would be amazing. Thanks so much.
