: Do you label your shots? How do you keep track of what you have? What kind of cataloging system do you use?
My collection is a little different, (just started collecting a few months ago) I only collect glasses without any paint, advertising, place names, etc. I look for variants in number of facets, shape, type of bottom, etc, so far I have found about 40 varieties. I made up a spread sheet that lists facet number (so far-0,4,6,8,10,12,14,16 and 36) with 14 being the most common. Other categories on the spreadsheet include wall thickness (thick medium and thin) shape of the inside bottom and outside bottom (round, flat, bump or slight bump), how the facet is cut (flat, rounded gouge, or v-cut) measurements of the top diameter, bottom diameter, bottom thickness and facet height as well as mold marks (so far-script L, F in a shield, 14L, 10, J, USA53, HA, and anchorH) I had no idea when I started that there would be so many configurations of plain old clear glass shots.
