By comparison to the man from Las Vegas, we have a small collection -- about 700 and mostly geographical (I have a Master's in geography and, to me, every place or event helps me recall some knowledge of the world around me.) In any case, we have excellent display shelves simply by placing glass shelves (about 36" long x 3.5" deep) between studs. This is pretty much a ceiling-to-floor arrangements. Our walls, including the studs, are finished and painted an off-white. Only problem is: They are pretty well goners if Colorado has one of its once-in-about-every-100-year's-earthquakes. : I am trying to get help building a storage building which will host my collection of shotglasses and other barware items . Over 8,000 pieces to display .
: I am going to build the outer walls , and after installing them I will place the shelves between the studs in the walls . I do not plan on using any sheet rock or any other type of material to cover the walls .
: I'll place the shelves from the ceiling down to 2 feet from the floor . Every other rolls of shelves will be staggered to get the glasses a different view and efect .
: I want to use 1"x3" for the shelves . Hopefully someone will read this and share their opinion on it with me . I thing it will be different and unusal .
