: I came across this very unique shot glass recently that I need help in identifying. It stands 2.75" high and is 2" in diameter. It is made of clear glass that is very thick. When you look into the bottom of the shot glass there is a floral design with gold leaf. It is as though you are looking into a kaleidoscope when you are looking into the bottom of the glass and turning it. The outside of the glass has 12 flat sides. When you turn the shot glass over, you see gold leaf painted in a circular fashion indented into the bottom of the glass that measures 1" across. There is a piece of clear glass that fits over the gold leaf. I will send a picture to you when you contact me. Sharon

Sharon,

I saw a couple of similar glasses on ebay a while back, with flowers in the bottom. I think they've out a piece of paper in the bottom and then poured glass over it. It's a pretty neat effect. I think Mark Pickvet discusses the procedure (albeit very briefly) in one of his shotglass books. These are fairly collectable items, I believe.
