I'm working on making this site the best identification guide, but since you asked for books, I'll
talk about books. There are two sets of books, one set is about shotglasses in general, while the other pair are about Whisky Sample glasses or Whisky Tasters.
There are three general shotglass books by Mark Pickvet all (or some) are available from Amazon http://www.shotglass.org/amazon/index.html
The two Whiskey Sample books are by Barbara Edmonson -- at least one of them is available from Amazon -- use the link listed above.
Whisky Tasters are thin sided glasses that are larger than you average shotglass, but date back to before prohibition
