What you broke was probably a syrup pourer, but as I understand it, they were filled with syrup that had been warmed in a larger vessel, not used for the warming process.

I often see these at antique malls, flea markets -- anywhere you finf lots of second-hand glassware

: My husband had a glass/crystal jigger that held two measures of alcohol (horizontal markings etched on the glass/crystal)and looked like a miniature pitcher-- handle, pour spout. I made the mistake of trying to heat maple syrup in it in the microwave and broke it. Has anyone come across any thing like what I am describing? I sure would like to replace it for him. Thanks!
