I clean mine once every other month, usually, while moving them around in the case so that different ones are constantly being displayed, and I would have to agree, warm water and dish soap, washing by hand is probably the best route to go. Make sure to use a non-abrasive soap, and let them dry upside down either on a drying rack or dish towel. I'm up to about 216 shot glasses in my collection, so cleaning them all at once takes a little while.....lol.
