I too have had little luck with flea markets and garage sales, with the exception of some of the largest flea markets. There is one in Louisville Kentucky (indoor, maybe the 4th of July weekend?) and another huge and famous one elsewhere in Kentucky or Tennessee where I found tons of glasses.

I think that I have purchased more glasses at Antique Malls (the larger multi-dealer shops) than anywhere else. My wife and I (and now my children) often stop at an antique place or two on every trip we make. My last trip was to Denver, where we visited a place called the Brass Armadillo and picked up about 100 glasses (not bad with a 4 year old and a 18 month old).

I like eBay, (it is probably my number two source of glasses, been using it since about '97) but too many careless packing jobs, invalid descriptions and a few complete rip offs have decreased how often I use it.

I too have traded with other people that post here -- that was why I posted a message late last year to find out who was into trading and who had a "good reputation." (I am a lot less trusting than I used to be, which I have to blame on eBay...)

I also pick up glasses while on vacation at souvenir shops, (especially at airports) but I am still amazed how hard it can be in some places to find glasses. I have stopped at many colleges, only to find out that they do not have shotglasses (some are so small their bookstore looks like something my High School had). I live in New Jersey and can rarely find a glass for any of the sports teams (It is easier to find glasses for the New York teams!)

I actively add to my collection at every chance I get. I also make additional "chances" by driving instead of flying (whenever possible) I used to drive the 1,100 miles between my parents house and graduate school. It was cheaper and much less hassle (leave when you want instead of on a schedule, stop wherever you want) but also gave me a way to see more of the country, and also to visit more shops!

: Where do you folks get most of your shot glasses from? Do you only pick them up from places you have visited? Are you a yard sale/flea market hunter? Are you addicted to Ebay or some other web site? Do you proactively try to add to your collection or just occasionally buy a few more? Lets all chat about this.
